Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) AJK Women Wing has officially launched its Digital & Virtual Membership Campaign

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) AJK Women Wing has officially launched its Digital Membership Campaign, a landmark initiative aimed at modernizing political registration and empowering women across Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Inaugurated on April 21, 2026, by AJK Prime Minister Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore at the Central Press Club in Muzaffarabad, this campaign represents a vital step toward grassroots political organization.

The drive is being executed under the directives of Faryal Talpur, President of the PPP Women Wing and In-charge of AJK Political Affairs.

Strategic Objectives

The digital membership initiative serves several key political and social purposes:

  1. Grassroots Mobilization: The campaign seeks to take the PPP’s message “door to door,” ensuring effective female representation at every tier of the organizational structure.
  2. Election Readiness: Launched ahead of upcoming general elections, the drive aims to secure a two-thirds majority by consolidating female voters and activists.
  3. Modernizing Outreach: By utilizing digital forms, the party aims to streamline registration, making it more accessible for women in remote areas.
  4. Advocacy for Rights: The campaign highlights the party’s commitment to women’s rights, inspired by the legacy of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

During the launch, PM Rathore emphasized that women’s empowerment is the “need of the hour” and that the PPP remains a “party of martyrs” dedicated to national interest over personal gain. Senator Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme, also attended, urging workers to stay steadfast to the ideology of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto to ensure victory in the polls.

PPP AJK Women Wing Launches its Membership Campaign for 2026

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has officially launched its Women Wing membership campaign for 2026 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). Under the leadership of the newly elected President, Shaheen Kausar Dar, the wing is shifting toward a digital-first approach to ensure every woman in the region has a voice in the upcoming general elections.

A Digital Frontier for Political Empowerment

In a historic move to modernize the party’s reach, membership is now open to all women from AJK through virtual and digital forums. This digital transformation allows women from remote valleys and urban centers alike to register, participate in policy discussions, and join leadership training without geographical barriers. By utilizing these forums, the PPP aims to bypass traditional hurdles to female political participation, such as limited mobility and conservative societal norms.

Vision and Slogan: “Join PPP for a Democratic, Progressive, and Developing AJK”

The campaign is built around a powerful vision: “Join PPP for a democratic, progressive, and developing AJK.” This slogan reflects the party’s commitment to:

  • Democracy: Strengthening grassroots representation and ensuring women are active decision-makers at every tier of the party.
  • Progressive Values: Carrying forward the legacy of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto by advocating for gender-sensitive legislation, education, and protection against harassment.
  • Development: Aligning with Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore’s agenda to accelerate socio-economic growth, improve governance, and empower women economically.
